The red lipstick review

Every girl needs to own a red lipstick; it’s an essential just like a little black dress. You just need to find the right shade for your skin tone. Figure out if you prefer cool, neutrals, or warm tones. Transitioning to a red lip can pretty intimidating but, with the right shade and confidence anyone can rock it.

NYX lip butter: red velvet

Nyx lip butter is the best of both worlds; it is moisturizing but also provides a slight tint to your lips. Perfect to wear during the daytime just because, it’s subtle and easy to apply without using a mirror. You can wear it alone or on top of your lip color to add some shine to your lips. Perfect for any age and skin tone.

The most important step before applying your lip color is to exfoliate your lips. You want to get rid of dead skin cells so when you apply your red lipstick it would go on smoothly. Use a mascara wand and Vaseline to scrub away dry flaky lips. Make sure you moisturize your lips with your favorite lip balm.

Mac: Ruby Woo

This Lip color is matte so it can feel a bit uncomfortable if you’re not used to this type of formulation, so apply a lip balm under or you can apply a gloss on top. Now this shade is great for every skin tone, I would definitely recommend using a lip liner to define your lip shape and to make sure no feathering or bleeding would occur. Make sure you do the finger trick so there won’t be any lipstick on your teeth.

Clinique: Angel Red
This is more of a darker tone red and it has some blue tones to it which makes your teeth appear whiter. It’s more hydrating and you won’t need to apply any lip balm or gloss on top. Always use a lip liner and also if you want to define your lips use concealer around your mouth to hide imperfections.

LA Girl: Pin Up

You’ll need a lip brush to apply this shade; the best thing about this shade is that it is a lip stain. When the color starts to fade off it leaves a tint of red to your lips.

When wearing red lipstick you want to keep your outfit simple. Don’t wear too much colors or it will clash and bring attention everywhere else but your lips. Also, keep your makeup natural and use browns or you can rock a red lip with winged eyeliner. Remember to always rock your red lips with confidence.
