STILL Obsessed with the Oxblood

The “Oxblood” is a color that has dominated the fashion scene since Fall 2012. Whether it’s a vampy lip or oxblood nail, it seems like this color has been, and continues to be, a simple yet striking color that goes with anything. It adds the right amount of “goth-chic” to any outfit, and also allows for a change from the usual black nail. There are many highly recognized brands such as Butter London and Nars who have perfected the nail color, but little do people know, it’s possible to find that same color in regular drug store brands, such as Essie, CoverGirl, or OPI. For my NOTD, I have purchased the CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in “wine stain” which goes on super easily, and dries glossy, to give a gel nail appearance. I love this polish, because it is almost a duplicate of the Butter London Shade “La Moss” but is much more affordable (Butter London; $18, CoverGirl; $9) and doesn’t stain your nails after you take it off.
