Hi everyone! Today’s blog post will be on organizing beauty products effectively and efficiently. I will be including a few of my favourite organizing products, a few DIYs plus many creative and cute ways to organize your makeup. I am not going to lie, but I am a huge makeup junkie. I love hoarding mascaras, lipsticks, bronzer, etc, and of course, I end up using the good o’ few products that’s the closest to my reach. But on the bright side, the makeup display make a nice décor piece in my room.

One of the easiest way to store makeup is picking up an acrylic organizer. They are a bit more expensive, but they are known to last longer and sturdier than plastic organizer. Three years ago, I bought the eDiva Princess (http://www.ediva.com/choose-your-ediva/), and although it is a bit of an investment, it is totally worth it. The storage space is perfect and the dividers between it keeps all the loose and random products in place. The eDiva also have a smaller version for those who don’t hoard as much as I do. The eDiva or any other acrylic organizer is such a modern and elegant piece, so it fits into any room nicely. I personally place a few bottle of perfumes and a cup of brushes on the top to complete a simple and efficient overall look.    (image: https://www.pinterest.com/edivadotcom/clear-acrylic-makeup-organizer-w-drawers-ediva/)

For brushes, the simple and cute DIY with a glass bowl and shiny decorative rocks. I can’t even emphasize how simple this project is, all you have to do is take a glass bowl (or even a medium size jar would work) and fill it with decorative rocks of your choice – you can also fill it up with decorative small sand/rocks, but keep in mind the bigger the rocks are the easier it is to pick up/clean up in case it fell.  (image: http://cutediyprojects.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Organized-Makeup-Brush-Display.jpg_) You can also mark the glass bowls in categories in which what brushes are used for what. One of my favourite product to use in DIY projects are mason jars, they are cheap and modern - plus with a creative mind, there is so much you can do with it! So, mason jars can be quite handy for makeup storage. Check out Liz Marie's DIY project on organizing bags of cotton balls, q-tips, sponge, etc. with this cute idea. You can obviously substitute these essentials with other products, such as lipsticks, sample size mascara, etc. Project details: http://lizmariegalvanblog.blogspot.sk/2011/01/mason-jar-love.html

For those who have a lot of nail polish, I find it the easiest to build a small wall rack and display it all out. Of course, organizing it by colour will make a very cute décor piece too! Here is a tutorial on building one: http://product-hag.blogspot.ca/2012/02/how-to-build-your-own-nail-polish-rack.html Alternatively, if you don’t want to get into all the labor or don’t have a handy man with you, you can simply but a wall shelf on Amazon for around $30: http://www.amazon.com/Bottle-Nail-Polish-Wall-Display/dp/B002WVBEH8, this display rack holds up to 96 bottles of nail polish. If you have more than 96 bottles, I think it’s time to get rid of some.

For those with plenty lipgloss and lipsticks that you will probably never end up using, but hey, collecting is a hobby. Use a shoe organizer to organize them. It saves space, because you can just hang it behind a door or against a wall and it holds so many of them. Similarly with the nail polish, if one shoe holder can't hold all of your lipgloss, I think it's time to get rid of some. A shoe organizer can be found at any home store, I am sure Wal-mart or Targe has it. On Amazon, you can also order one for $10 #worth, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001F51AHG?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B001F51AHG&linkCode=xm2&tag=bustle209-20  (image: http://www.bustle.com/articles/37679-14-diy-makeup-organizer-ideas-that-are-so-much-prettier-than-those-stacks-of-plastic-boxes/image/156439)

Lastly, here are a few quick household items that can be used as makeup organizer. I found these on http://www.slashedbeauty.com/, and they are super useful and not costly at all!

Ice cube trays to hold your eyeshadow palettes.

Dish rack to hold your bigger palettes. It is also very easy to pick up the palette you are looking for.  And, although it doesn’t hold many, you can use a cookie tray to hold the few lipsticks you use often!
