Growing your hair is something that will take time over the course of days. You have to remember that hair won’t grow overnight and it will take some time to do so. However there are some things you can do to speed up that process. Every month your hair grows an average of a ¼ inch to a max of ½ inch. So it will definitely take patient to grow long, strong and healthy hair.

I hate to believe this but it is true that the more you cut your hair the faster it will grow. Regular trims will help get rid of split ends which means keeping your hair healthy. It is also important to do regular trims because if you wait too long the breakage will reach higher up into your hair, meaning that your hair has to be shorter.

Conditioner is a must. Especially if you use heat and color, over time your strands will start getting thinner. To prevent split ends, conditioner will helps protects the tips. Hence, it will grow longer and healthier. However, when you wash your hair and it’s not too dirty, avoid shampoo or lessen the amount. Shampoo removes dirt and natural oils – but these natural oil is needed to keep your hair healthy. I would recommend using 1-2, no more than 3 times of shampooing.

I have seen a lot of promotion on Instagram for hair-boosting supplements. Essentially, it is like a vitamin, you consume it once a day. There are a few vital nutrients for hair to grow. If you have a balanced diet, these pills make not be that helpful. However before taking it, you should consult with your doctor to make the sure the amount is right for you. A few brands includes: Viviscal, Biotin, Hairfinity; I have seen these on Instagram with great reviews!

There are also different pillow case that helps with hair growth – believe it or not. It is recommended that switching from cotton to sateen fabric will help because it is a softer surface. The less friction against woven cotton will let you wake up with fewer tangles. Also to avoid tangles is to use the right hairbrush.  Try natural bristle vs plastic bristle.

One more thing that can help is rinsing your hair with cold water at the end of washing your hair. It lays down the outer layer of hair more smoothly, prevent moisture loss, snags and heat damage!
